People Caring for People---We support people with developmental disabilities to achieve their full potential by enhancing human development, health, environment and quality of life.
Description:
CWC provides opportunities and choices that promote self-determination and independence for people with Developmental Disabilities. There are approximately 340 people currently residing at CWC. We also provide short term care and assessment for people living in the community. A variety of services performed by a highly trained and dedicated staff are available. These include medical, nursing, physical and occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, recreation, music therapy, vocational and dietary services.
Volunteers work in many of these areas.
History:
CWC is one of 3 residential facilities operated by the Department of Health and Family Services. The Center has been providing quality services for people with developmental disabilities and multiple handicaps for over 45 years.

CWC is located on the north side of Madison near Lake Mendota. Knutson Drive is off Hwy 113 (Northport Drive) north of Warner Park. The Center is on a Madison Metro bus route: Number 22 from the North Transfer Point.
