Family Centers is an overarching organization comprised of four social service agencies: Canopy Center, Family Enhancement, Exchange Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Respite Center. All four organizations work to prevent child abuse and neglect in unique ways, by strengthening families, providing treatment, parenting education, matching volunteers with families who may be at-risk, and providing respite for parents of young children.
Description:
The Canopy Center provides services for: individuals who have been affected by child sexual abuse, including children, their non-offending parent(s), and adult survivors; support groups for parents who are experiencing multiple stressors; and an 18-hour Parent Stressline. Family Enhancement provides parent education classes on a myriad of topics and provides CASA volunteers to work one-on-one with families. The Exchange Center matches volunteers with families who may be at-risk, including families with new babies and families with disabilities. The Respite Center provides respite services for parents who need a break in order to reduce stress.
