Joining Forces for Families(JFF) is a Dane County Department of Human Services program that serves children and families at individual, family, neighborhood, and community levels alike. JFF-Allied area aims to help families in the Allied neighborhood in Madison address their basic human needs, such as housing, transportation, food, and employment needs.
Description:
In order to best support the success of children, youth and families in the home, school and community, JFF-Allied area involves a Site Manager/Community Social Worker and cooperation from several agencies: Neighborhood Law Project, UW Extension-Nutrition Education, Dane County Job Center (caseworker), Community Action Coalition (housing caseworker), Wisconsin Children's Society (Community Support Specialist), and City of Madison Weed and Seed (coordinator). These agencies collaborate to provide voluntary, community-based, supportive services that help keep families stable and deflect them away from costly formal system interventions.
History:
Joining Forces for Families was developed in the early 1990s in order to provide a collaboration of services for families in need of assistance.
