Easter Seals Wisconsin strives to increase independence, maximize opportunities, minimize barriers, and enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities.

Description:
Easter Seals Wisconsin Camps has two camp programs, Respite Camp and Camp Wawbeek. Both camps are located on a completely accessible site situated on 400 acres of beautiful wilderness just north of Wisconsin Dells where campers can hike, climb, race, explore, swim, create, dance, sing and relax.

While both camps offer a trained, professional staff to assist and encourage campers, as well as a staff of registered nurses, Respite Camp works 1-to-1 with individuals with involved physical, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral disabilities and Camp Wawbeek works with individuals with physical disabilities with mild to no cognitive impairments. Respite camp offers 12 respite weekends during the school year and a full camp season with 10 sessions during the summer. Camp Wawbeek offers 7 summer sessions from June to August.

We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers with a real passion for helping people to join our camp family. Also, individuals have the opportunity to join with AmeriCorps in a joint venture providing program support for Easter Seals Wisconsin campers while earning education awards that can be used to pay education costs at qualified institutions. Please see our opportunities section to see where you can currently lend a hand.
Easter Seals is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.

History:
Easter Seals Wisconsin Camps started in 1938 to provide a quality program for kids and adults with disabilities that would allow them to experience new things, or to participate in things they enjoy but do not have the opportunity to do so.
