Friends of Troy Gardens is a non-profit organization responsible for the development, management, and stewardship of Troy Gardens, 26 acres of open space on the Northside of Madison.

Description:
Troy Gardens is 26 acres of beautiful open space on the Northside of Madison. We have community gardens, the only Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm located in the city, a kids' garden, prairie and woodland restoration, handicapped accessible gardens, an edible landscape and plenty of space in which to take a walk! In the near future, the Madison Area Community Land Trust will be building 30 units of affordable co-housing on five additional acres adjacent to the open space.

History:
Troy Gardens is the direct result of community action! When the land went up for sale by the state, the community members organized and came up with a vision and plan for the land. After 7 years of hard work by the many people involved in the project, the Madison Area Community Land Trust was able to purchase the land. Troy Gardens was saved from development and now belongs to the people of Madison!
