We provide spiral notebooks and lined journals in our 'New Diagnosis' Duffel Bag for the families of children undergoing their first hospitalization for cancer treatment. We encourage kids and families to use their notebook to write down their questions for doctors and nurses and to keep track of the answers they get, the names of all the medical people they meet, names of drugs, etc. during this stressful and confusing time. It's a simple gift, but very useful.
