Evening Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver hot, nutritious meals to older and disabled adults in Madison and the surrounding area. In addition to delivering a meal, through their presence at a client's door volunteers provide an important check-in and social encounter. Volunteers are asked to be available once/week or every other week. Pick up and delivery occurs between 4/4:45p and about 6p. Routes are selected convenient to a volunteer's home, place of work, or commute. This opportunity is great for parents/children, families, and couples. Corporate groups are welcome (rotating schedule/adopt-a-route)!
Volunteers must be sensitive to the needs and abilities of older and disabled adults. Must provide own transportation/vehicle. Valid ID and auto insurance required. This opportunity is sponsored by: Independent Living, Inc.
