Court Appointed Special Advocate ![]()
CASA volunteers are specially trained everyday people who advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the court system. CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge and agree to serve the child for one year. They visit the child in their home every week and monitor whether or not court orders are being followed. We talk to everyone in the child's life and write a monthly report to the judges informing them of progress on the case. CASA volunteers must be 21 years of age, agree to undergo a thorough background check, participate in 30 hours of National CASA training and a morning of courtroom observation. Volunteers must also commit to one year of service, which is the average length of a court order. This opportunity is sponsored by: CASA Of Dane County, Inc.
