If you're comfortable with computers and are a good proofreader, please consider volunteering to scan and proofread course readings at the McBurney Disability Resource Center at UW-Madison. Scanning the course readings make them available in an electronic format that is more accessible to students with visual impairments or learning disabilities. We are looking for volunteers who can come to the McBurney Center (1305 Linden Drive) during business hours (8:00am-4:30pm) and volunteer for 2-3 hours per week for a semester or longer. Work would begin sometime in late Summer 2008. There may also be some opportunities to work from home if volunteers have access to their own computers with word processing software. Training is provided. Volunteers should be comfortable using technology and be able to proofread quickly and accurately. This opportunity is sponsored by: McBurney Disability Resource Center
