It is our hospice mission, acting as Partners in Care with other community-based healthcare providers, to deliver excellent quality care and to support our hospice patients and families in their journey through the end-of-life stages.
Description:
Gadsden Regional Hospice seeks to provide the special care to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of both terminally ill patients and their families. During Hospice care, specially trained professionals and volunteers focus on controlling symptoms so the patient can achieve the best possible quality of life. Services include: regular nursing visitation as needed, Home Health Aides, medical social services, counseling, a chaplain, grief and bereavement counseling for up to 13 months following the loss, nutritional guidance and support, speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
History:
Gadsden Regional Hospice, is known as the first Hospice in Etowah county, and was originally founded in the 1980's as ECHO (Etowah County Hospice Organization) under the vision of the Etowah Baptist Association. It later became a department of Baptist Medical Center and subsequently Gadsden Regional Medical Center. We continue to operate and honor the vision of our founders by providing for the needs of our great community.
