Mentors are needed to work one-on-one with high school students. This is a great opportunity for those interested in careers in education or social service to gain valuable experience. Mentors meet weekly with their student at the student's high school during the school year. The pairs work on everything related to getting ready for college. A staff member is on-site to supervise. Mentors must: be a current college student with a GPA of 3.0 or better, be at least a sophomore, complete a written application including 2 references, be interviewed by MAACS staff, participate in a 4 hour orientation, attend 4 mentor meetings throughout the school year.
