Description:
The New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce serves over 1,000 member businesses of all sizes from virtually all industries in the ten communities of New Bedford, Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Freetown, Mattapoisett, Marion, Rochester, Wareham, and Westport. The New Bedford Chamber is a progressive organization that participates in initiatives that positively impact our business members and the quality of life in the South Coast region. Initiatives include education, economic development, trade shows, and legislative affairs. We sponsor many events year-round, including the annual Standard-Times Greater New Bedford Summerfest featured in July. Summerfest has become one of the largest folk music and arts festivals in New England.

History:
Established in 1885, the New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce serves ten communities in the South Coast of Massachusetts. With a total population of more than 210,000 residents, the ten communities include: the City of New Bedford; Acushnet; Dartmouth; Fairhaven; Freetown; Mattapoisett; Marion; Rochester; Wareham; and Westport.

 From Boston and points north and east: Take 93 South to 24 South to 140 South. Take exit 2E onto I-195 East. Take Exit 15 (Downtown New Bedford) onto Rt. 18. At second light, turn right onto Union Street. At the second set of lights turn right onto Purchase Street. From Providence and points west: Take I-195 East to Exit 15 onto Rt. 18. At the second set of lights turn right onto Purchase Street.
