Mill River Watershed Association helps organize efforts toinsure a clean and stable ecosystem through vigorous monitoring, intelligent restoration and preservation based on sound science. MRWA promotes revelant research, education for all interested parties.

The organiztion grew in part out of concerns that the new water treatment plant planned by the Regional Water Authority of South Central Copnnecticut by Armory Street and Whitney Avenue would diminish the system flow of the Mill River below the spillway dam and lower the level of the upper lake of the reservoir above it.
History:
The founding meeting of MRWA took place in February of 2000 after a period of formation in which the bylaws were developed. The organiztion grew in part out of concerns that the new water treatment plant planned by the Regional Water Authority of South Central Copnnecticut by Armory Street and Whitney Avenue would diminish the system flow of the Mill River below the spillway dam and lower the level of the upper lake of the reservoir above it.
