Last updated on May 7, 2008

Pine Tree Hospice works with both clients and families experiencing the end of life, as well as children and families who are experiencing the grief that accompanies the loss of a significant person in their lives.

Description:
PTH honors life and offers comfort with dignity to people of any age living with a progressive life-limiting illness.

PTH educates and supports its volunteers and staff to maintain a high standard of care, and responds to care-giver, family and community needs for continued bereavement support.

PTH will be seen as a valuable resource not only for clients, but also for families, friends, and the entire community regarding care at the end of life and bereavement.

History:
Pine Tree Hospice began in 1985 to serve the needs of people in the community facing life limiting illnesses. When Medicare began paying for Hospice, Pine Tree Hospice expanded its mission and 10 years ago partnered with CHCS to offer volunteers to all clients who are receiving Medicare Hospice Services. We continue to serve both clients on Hospice services, as well as those who may not qualify. In 2008, we have launched our Evergreen Program to serve the needs of grieving children.
