The Rochester Area Interfaith Hospitality Network (RAIHN) is a not for profit organization of faith communities, that assists homeless families achieve sustainable self-sufficiency by providing shelter, food, individualized case management by a professional staff and the support of a broad network of caring volunteers.
Description:
Our vision includes the sign-up of an ongoing basis of thirteen or more Participating congregations . They furnish sleeping accommodations and a "hospitality room" where guests relax, socialize, do homework, or watch television. Guests arrive at the host congregation at 5:30 pm and remain overnight. The host congregation provides the evening meal, breakfast, and a bag lunch. In the morning, guests return to the day center, staffed by our Network Director, Erica Vera, MSW, who assists the families in attaining self-sufficiency.
