The Mission of Volunteers of America of Western New York is to address community needs by providing long-term solutions that help the most vulnerable and under-served people achieve their full potential.

Description:
Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. Since 1896, our ministry of service has supported and empowered America’s most vulnerable groups, including at-risk youth, men and women returning from prison, homeless individuals and families, and those recovering from addictions. Our work touches the mind, body, heart—and ultimately the spirit—of those we serve, integrating our deep compassion with highly effective programs and services.

History:
Volunteers of America of Western New York, Inc. was established in Rochester in 1901 and offers services that provide long-term solutions to the problems of homelessness, addiction, disadvantaged children, illiteracy, incarceration, and poverty. The agency helps more than 15,000 people every year throughout Western New York.
