Mission Statement-Isaiah House, a home for the dying, provides a residence for persons with irreversible illness who have been determined to be within the last three months of their lives. At Isaiah we affirm life without hastening or postponing death. Our commitment flows from a belief in the dignity and value of every person. Having experienced the tender compassion of God, we welcome everyone with this unconditional love.

Description:
Isaiah House is a 2-bed residence for the dying. Our priority has always been to take those individuals whose circumstances are such that their needs can best be met in a hospice setting. We believe in a holistic approach for our residents addressing their physical, social and spiritual needs. We provide only palliative care for our residents. We make no attempt to prolong the lives of those we care for but rather provide comfort and support for them as they reach the final stage of their lives. We also provide support for the families and friends of our residents. Since Isaiah House is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week our staffing needs are great. Fortunately the vast majority of our care-givers at Isaiah House are trained volunteers. Without them we could not continue our ministry. We are, however, always looking for new volunteers so if you have an interest please call or e-mail us at Isaiah House.

History:
Isaiah House is one of the first homes for the dying in the Rochester area. We first opened our doors in 1987. Appreciating and honoring our history, we continue to reach out to our community and beyond, in the service of those in need.
