The YWCA of Genesee County provides advocacy and services to empower women and their families and to thrust our power to eliminate racism.

Description:
The YWCA of Genesee County offers educational workshops on wellness and conduct fitness programs for women and their families. A 24/7 Domestic Violence Program provides shelter and support services for victims. We offer before and after-school child care for youth ages 4-12 at five sites throughout the county. We supervise a drop-in child care center at the Genesee County Court Facility.

History:
The YWCA of Genesee County was chartered in 1910 and is an affiliate of the YWCA of the USA and the World YWCA. The organization was founded locally to provide for the spiritual, moral, social and physical condition of young women and to accommodate the need for residence rooms for young working women.
