Description:
The Mary M. Gooley Hemophilia Center wears two hats. We are the local chapter (chartered in 1953) of the National Hemophilia Foundation. We are also a freestanding diagnostic and treatment center licensed by the NYS Department of Health (founded in 1959). The Center provides treatment, advocacy and research to people affected by Hemophilia, other bleeding disorders, the iron overload disorder Hemochromatosis and the enzyme deficiency Gaucher disease.

History:
The Center provides medical services, so we function as a busy medical office. A big part of our job is to educate patients, families and the general public about the challenges faced by people living with bleeding disorders. We provide comprehensive care to the families we serve, multi-specialty medical care, nursing, social work and numerous other support services. We also hold special events and patient-events at different times of the year, including an athletic Triathlon in September in Canandaigua - the Finger Lakes Triathlon.
