The first stage is for you to stop in and see this beautiful home and take a tour. Next, join in for a couple of training classes which will cover hospice philosophy, resident care and most importantly medications. You will then spend some time shadowing some of our seasoned volunteers. Our shifts are 4 hours and you will always work in pairs. The nurses are always available to give you support and answer questions. Many of the volunteers have made some great friendships and have been really surprised at what new skills they have learned.

You should be able to hear well, speak and write in English. You should be able to lift 50 pounds safely as well.
Sympathy and empathy and the ability to work with others will also play into the dynamics here.
