OUR MISSION: Breathe New Hampshire is committed to eliminating lung disease and improving the quality of life for those living with lung disease in NH.
Description:
Through our leadership in the efforts against tuberculosis; we are strong advocates for clean air; we seek a tobacco-free society; we strive to help people with asthma breathe easier; we are the preeminent resource for information and support to victims of lung disease and those who care for them; and we do all this to help those who suffer from lung disease today, and to stop the spread of lung disease tomorrow.
History:
Breathe NH was founded in 1904 to fight tuberculosis. It is the oldest, nationwide voluntary health agency in the United States. The New Hampshire chapter was founded in 1916. Its mission today is to promote health in the State of New Hampshire through the prevention and control of lung disease. Specifically, our programming is focused in three areas: asthma education, tobacco prevention and cessation, and legislative advocacy. All services are offered statewide.
