TASC's purpose is to provide rides to eligible residents of Exeter, Greenland, Hampton,Hampton Falls North Hampton,Rye,Stratham and Seabrook for medical and social service appointments, grocery shopping and other basic needs. Examples of eligible residents include senior citizens and other adults who are able to get to a car with little or no assistance but whose physical or medical conditions prevent them from driving.

Description:
TASC is a collaborative effort between several seacoast area churches and nonprofit agencies. The goal is to coordinate a network of volunteer drivers to provide rides to eligible residents. Volunteer drivers must be at least 25 years old and have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record and a legally registered and inspected vehicle. TASC volunteers will participate in orientation and agree to a background check before being given any assignments.

TASC is a "curb-to-curb" service, so passengers must be able to get to and from, and in and out of a vehicle with little or no assistance.

History:
Limited transportation service in the seacoast region creates a barrier to health care and other necessary services for many residents. TASC was formed to help overcome this barrier. Starting in December, 2006,with 6 volunteer drivers, TASC provided 44 rides in the first month. By the end of October, 2007 we had grown to more than 30 volunteer drivers and had scheduled well over 200 rides! And we just keep growing, both in the number of volunteer drivers and the number of rides requested. As successful as we have been, there are still ride requests that are turned down because a volunteer driver is not available.
