The Infant Toddler Site is on Pinkham Road in Lee and provides infant and toddler early care and education. This program is designed to meet then needs of very young children. We provide a safe and loving atmosphere where children explore through play in the company of attentive and interactive adults. The Preschool sites provide preschool and kindergarten programming for children ages 2.5 to 6. children are engaged in fun experiential learning activities that are designed to promote social skills, pre math, reading and writing readiness. Each day includes group and individual activities, outdoor physical play, and quiet relaxation time. Emphasis is placed on the process of discovery and learning. Creativity and individuality are celebrated. One preschool program is on Pinkham Road in Lee next door to our Infant Toddler program and one is on Strafford Ave in Durham at the Woodside Apartment Complex. Our two school age programs (Our Time at Moharimet Elementary and Our Time at Oyster River) provide after school programming and full day summer camp for children. These programs provide a safe, supervised recreational atmosphere. Our programs give children a safe place with caring adults to pursue interests, work on homework, participate in sports and socialize with friends. Caring responsible adults are available for group and one on one discussion. Summer camp includes weekly themes, swimming, special activities and field trips.
History:
Growing Places was incorporated when three former non profit child care centers, all established in the 1970s, merged in 1996. We realized a long time dream of the organization over the past two years when we relocated all three of our early childhood programs into better quality space. We also consolidated our Infant Toddler site and one of our Preschool sites to one location enabling families with more than one child to have one location for their children.
