Hampton Community Coalition Food Panty/Soup Kitchen
powered by United eWay

Last updated on September 13, 2007

HCC is a totally volunteer run organization that supports the health and well being of all Hampton area residents through volunteer supported programs and services, collaborative networking, and resource development.

Description:
The Coalition consists of several volunteer action teams addressing specific areas of community support for families in need of assistance. Hampton is home to a large transient population especially in the winter months. We coordinate projects such as gathering and distribution of food and household items; a walk-in information and resource center to connect people with local support services; parent education programs; youth after school activities. Our programs take place both at the Hobbs House, in Hampton and in the Hampton schools.

History:
HCC was started in 1995 by the Hampton School social worker and school volunteers, who found that existing social service supports were too far removed from the beach to adequately support the winter transient and homeless population there. Since then, the Coalition has grown into a comprehensive support network for the town as a whole, promoting health and wellness for all residents. It is truly a grassroots effort, and there are many ways to become involved, from donating detergent to developing new program ideas.
