Through the delivery of meals, RNMOW helps to improve or maintain the health of older and disabled adults through good nutrition and steady diet, and through the social contact and delivery of other services, to reduce waning self-sufficiency that may occur in older age; thereby enabling older and disabled citizens' the opportunity to remain in their own homes and communities.

Description:
RNMOW operates Monday through Friday around the lunch hours, providing meals to seniors attending 11 senior dining facilities and delivering to homebound participants in the over 1,000 nutrition meals a day; we provide the individual and their family the reassurance that someone will be looking in on them each day (daily safety check). We also provide support services such as referrals to other agencies, information relevant to senior interests, activities, distribution of donated items, and transportation in some areas. With our ability to reach so many seniors especially the homebound on a regular basis we are also an important link between them and the outside world. As in the recent flooding issues, FEMA told us that Meals on Wheels is one of the first agency they look towards to ensure they are reaching and assisting the elderly of the community.

History:
In 1978, several small programs serving meals at 6 locations were separated from Strafford County's program to form a meals program here in Rockingham County. During these years, RNMOW has grown a great deal, expanding to our current 13 locations throughout the county, enabling us to provide meals and services to an ever-growing senior population.

RNMOW is a 501 (3)(c) non-profit agency registered with the State of New Hampshire.
