Seacoast Family Food Pantry, formerly Family Service Association, is the oldest, private, charitable organization in the Seacoast. Our mission is to fulfill the basic needs of low-income individuals with food, personal care items, and nutritional education for healthy living. We provide these services on both an emergent and on-going basis, respecting the dignity of each individual.
Description:
Seacoast Family Food Pantry is a registered 501(c)(3)agency. We help those who are trying to help themselves, not only by providing food and personal care items, but special holiday baskets, a summer camp program, a Back-to-School program, and nutritional information to low-income residents of the greater Seacoast. We also actively reach out to the working poor, who make a little too much to receive any state or federal assistance but are struggling to make ends meet due to ever rising housing and utility costs. Seacoast Family Food Pantry also hosts the SERVE Co-Op.
History:
Seacoast Family Food Pantry began in 1816 as the Ladies Humane Society to provide assistance to widows of fishermen and their children. There have been five name changes since 1816. We are now known as Seacoast Family Food Pantry. We are a volunteer driven organization, depending on Board Members and volunteers to help organize and run all of our programs and fund raisers.
