Description:
We are a free-standing, non-profit outpatient clinic. We provide the following services: Basic gynecological care, pregnancy testing & counseling; birth control; abortion care services; health education; herpes support group: sexually-transmitted disease clinics for women & men; as well as confidential HIV/AIDS testing. Services are provided by MD's, licensed nurse practitioners,registered nurses and thoroughly trained health workers. Staff are committed to sensitive, compassionate provision of all of our services. While we are primarily funded by fees for service, community donations and fund-raisers keep our prices affordable.

History:
Founded in 1980 as an expansion of the Concord Feminist Health Center, the Feminist Health Center of Portsmouth separated from Concord and became a free-standing health center in the late 1980's. We moved from our location in downtown Portsmouth at about the same time. For almost 30 years, we have offered patients privacy and safety, in a warm and comfortable setting. The building is a 150 year old farmhouse that we have renovated to meet outpatient clinic licensing requirements.
