Our Mission: The Office of Community Service and Learning promotes lifelong civic responsibility and community involvement through engaging students, faculty and staff in opportunities to develop partnerships, promote service-learning, facilitate collaboration and support meaningful service activities that are mutually beneficial to the campus and community. Our Vision: We will enhance the University's vision of civic commitment and spirit of discovery by creating an environment that promotes learning within the community through meaningful service and reflection.

Our goals include: To support faculty in the development of service-learning classes, increase campus participation in meaningful community service activities, increase and strengthen campus-community partnerships, promote and celebrate the good works of students, faculty, staff and community members, to promote community involvement that encourages a lifelong commitment to civic engagement, and to promote the services of the Office of Community Service and Learning.
History:
The Office of Community Service & Learning was founded approximately 10 years ago to address the growing trend for colleges and universities to support the needs of local communities and community-based learning opportunities, as well as support the mission of institution. Originally a part-time position, the office is staffed by two full-time staff members.
