The Dover Teen Center's mission is to provide a safe and comfortable space for Dover youth, grades 6-12, as well as directed activities designed to foster mutual respect, personal responsibility, leadership and self-esteem.
Description:
We are generally open from 2:30-6:00 Monday through Friday for youth participants to take advantage of the services available at the Dover Teen Center; learning resource lab, table/video games, athletic and artisitic activities etc. In addition to these, we will also mix-in trips to local areas for hikes, fishing and fun. In addition to the current staff, we offer college internships for Summer, Fall and Spring semesters. Those looking for an experience with enthusiastic, high-energy youth, should consider the Dover Teen Center for their internship. Please contact the director!
History:
The Dover Teen Center, within the past two years, has been taken over by the Dover Police Department. In the past, it served as primarily a drop-in center for Dover's Youth. We have expanded that mission to include the directed programming as a way to get kids more involved with activities in their community, while building self-esteem through leadership development.
