 A Safe Place will be holding its next direct service volunteer training starting Friday February 29th. The training is for 30 hours and includes Friday, Feb 29 5:30 - 9 PM, Sat. Mar. 1 9 AM - 5 PM, Mar 2 9 AM-5PM, Tues. Mar 4 5:30 PM - 9 PM, and Tuesday Mar 11 5:30 PM - 9 PM. An interview and background check is required to volunteer with A Safe Place. Overall Experience 
Absolutely fantastic; I had a wonderful experience

I worked as an intern with the Outreach and Education coordinator for the summer, and it was wonderful. I got to help her give presentations on abusive relationships at area schools, translated the agency brochure into French, updated the various brochures for LGBTIQ survivors, and rewrote part of the volunteer training manual. It was an excellent balance between putting the skills I've learned at school to use and learning more about what I can do with my degree after I graduate. Everyone I worked with was extremely personable and inclusive of me, and readily answered any questions I had about what nonprofit work was like. Overall, volunteering here was an excellent experience.
