The Mission of the VA is to provide quality healthcare to veterans in an environment of excellence.
Description:
We provide healthcare (medical, surgical, oncology, behavioral health, post-traumatic stress, substance abuse, etc.) to veterans on an in/outpatient basis. We have a 200-bed facility, which includes two nursing homes.
History:
Veterans Administration took over the Winter General Army Hospital in 1946, which was on the KNI grounds. A new facility was built next door in 1958 and 1,100 patients were brought over from Winter General VA Hospital when the doors opened in January.

The main entrance to the VA Medical Center is located on Gage Blvd one block South of 21st & Gage. The volunteer office is located on the east side of the facility and can be reached by taking the perimeter road. When you see the gazebo you are close to Building 24. Look for the green awning over the east door. Voluntary Service is located inside that door then take the hallway to your left; we are room A120.
