 Bike MS, Sept. 20-21, 2008, is an annual two-day cycling event in Topeka, covering 180 miles, over 300 participants and a goal to raise $167,000 through sponsorship, pledges and donations. Money raised goes to local programs as well ans research initiatives. Committee members meet monthly to plan all aspects of the event from route, food, flare, entertainment and logistics. Committee members also assist hands-on the weekend of the event, and can participate as a rider as well. Individuals from all background are encouraged to inquire. Assistance is needed in the areas of recruitment, advertising and marketing to in-kind donations. Other areas include: bike shop relations, medical assistance, VIP provisions, client outreach.
Must be reliable and at least 18 yrs of age. Meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month at 6pm, attendance at a majority of these is required. Able to work with other team members and complete individual tasks. This opportunity is sponsored by: National Multiple Sclerosis Society
