Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen, a voluntary non-profit human service agency, exists to provide a wide range of quality services to individuals, families, and communities and reflects the concerns of the Church and all people of good will on behalf of those in need, especially the economically poor and those devalued by society.

Description:
Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen is a voluntary non-profit social service agency. The agency provides a range of inventive, tailored, affordable services to individuals, families and communities, prioritizing the impoverished, the under-served, and those devalued by society. Quality services are available to any client regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, national origin and/or socio-economic status.

Outreach, family support and community-based services are common goals among agency programs. Catholic Charities has expertise in providing services to multi-problem families, specializing in the treatment of children and youth.

Catholic Charities programs aim to accomplish four key goals:

  • To provide comprehensive social services, while respecting the dignity and rights of clients. Clients should be educated consumers who help determine the course of their own.
  • To assure that programs respond to changing community needs.
  • To preserve the family structure, and improve the independent practice of social, economic, and/or interpersonal skills.
  • To provide highly professional, culturally sensitive staff, who possess a thorough understanding of agency philosophy.

  • History:
    Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen has been incorporated since 1982 and is in good standing. The agency provides services to somerset, Hunterdon, Warren and Middlesex Counties and has been present in Middlesex County for more than 30 years. It currently operates multiple service sites throughout Middlesex county. Many programs are outreach oriented to make them more accessible to clients.
