The Iowa City Public Works Department exists to provide the essential infrastucture and services necessary for the health , safety and welfare of our community. These services will be provided in a manner that will enhance the quality of life of our citizens.
Description:
The Iowa City Public Works Department provides the community with services which include: Maintenance of Streets and Traffic Control Systems Production and Distribution of Potable Water Collection and Treatment of Wastewater Collection and Management of Stormwater Refuse Collection and Recycling Services Operation of a Regional Sanitary Landfill, Household Hazardous Waste Facility and Recycling Center. Manage and Maintain the City's Fleet of Vehicles and Equipment. Design , Inspection and Construction Administration of Capitol Projects, Design Review and Inspection of Development related additions to our Infrastructure.
