History:
The City of Kent Parks Department was formally organized in 1968. Inherent with the responsibilities of providing open space for passive recreation uses as well as diverse recreational opportunities for the citizens of Kent and the South King County area, the Parks Department also restores sensitive wetland areas. From its inception, the Department has partnered with many diverse organizations. It maintains a vibrant volunteer program offering a variety of opportunities to individuals and groups of any age, size and abilities.
