To strengthen, empower, and increase social support for all families by providing information, education, resources and referrals that are richly diverse and accessible.

Description:
The Shoreline Family Support Center provides a diversity of programming support and referrals for families, children, youth, and adults in the Shoreline community & surrounding areas. The Shoreline Family Support Center works in partnership with the community to provide programs that are accessible, community-based, and culturally relevant. Activities include Early Childhood Education, Parent/Caregiver Support, Citizenship & ELL classes, After-school Tutoring, and Youth Development. Shoreline Family Support Center also provides Family Services such as a Clothing Exchange area, referrals for other community resources, and acts as a host for other programs, including WIC, and the Emergency Food Program which is run by the local food bank.

The Shoreline Family Support Center embraces a set of beliefs that focuses on strengthening and empowering families and communities so that they can foster the optimal development of children, youth, and adult family members.

History:
The Center for Human Services has been serving the areas of South Snohomish County & North King County since 1970, by providing counseling and other resources for individuals, youth, and family. In 1982 the Center for Human Services saw a need for better and more diverse support for local families, including programming, resources, and a community center that was open, comfortable, and accessible. They opened the Shoreline Family Support Center by combining the Creative Life Foundation and Shoreline Youth Services, and we have been growing ever since.
