The Seattle Humane Society is committed to providing the resources and support necessary to build lifelong relationships between people and their pets.
Description:
The Seattle Humane Society is a not-for-profit organization that first opened our doors in 1897. Since that time, we have gone from being just an animal shelter to providing a variety of programs and services specifically crafted to support pets throughout their relationships with people. The simple truth is that animals benefit greatly from what we do. But people benefit greatly as well. It happens through companionship the concept of people and their pets existing as a camaraderie of equals, of friends, of those joined to live with and serve each other throughout their lives. And the most important part of our job is to make sure that there is a solid basis for and ongoing support of this companionship.
