At Immanuel Community Services we seek to rekindle hope, nurture community and offer an environment where people can transform their lives with dignity.

Description:
Immanuel Community Services is located in the Cascade (South Lake Union) neighborhood. We have a Food Bank which also provides support for our Community Lunch and Recovery Program. The Recovery Program provides consistent shelter and case management (3-9 months on average)for men in active outpatient recovery programs--who are also homeless. Almost 80% of these homeless men leave "clean" and move into transitional or permanent housing. Our Hygiene Center provides showers, laundry facilities and dignity 5 days a week to those who walk in.

History:
Immanuel Community Services has been providing meal, food bank and shelter services for the last 30 years. COMMUNITY is our middle name. Community is central to how volunteers and program participants interact. Our culture of service is less "let me help you" and more "how are you doing today?".

Now a separate, non-profit organization, Immanuel Community Service's early volunteer and leadership were originally formed by Immanuel Lutheran Congregation which has been part of this neighborhood for over 100 years.

We serve about 350-400 individuals each month in our Food Bank. Our monthly Community Lunch is a not a "soup line" but a meal, at a table with good conversation and people from all different economic backgrounds...truly a community! Our Hygiene Center provides showers (and dignity) for 175-225 people per week.

We are part of Food Resource Network Federation.
