Non-profit home ownership center providing information and referral, and pre-purchase counseling to first-time home buyers with low to moderate income.
Description:
Washington Homeownership Center is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) agency that helps low to moderate-income households in Washington State achieve the dream of home ownership. Our mission is to “increase and preserve home ownership for low- and moderate-income individuals and families” and since 1996, we have provided information about home ownership assistance programs, predatory lending, avoiding foreclosure, lenders, and real estate professionals to over 20,000 families and individuals who hope to become first-time home buyers. Through our free, statewide Homeownership Hotline we provide free information for first-time homebuyers who often face multiple barriers to home ownership. By calling WHC, you will be given a home ownership readiness assessment. This basic assessment includes a review of your family size and income, credit history, housing and location requirements, and other factors used to determine eligibility for a variety of first time buyer programs. You will then be referred to the appropriate resources and encouraged to call us back throughout the process for further assistance.
