Network Services Of Puget Sound

Last updated on April 21, 2008

The mission of the "ONE FAMILY AT A TIME" Program of NETWORK SERVICES OF PUGET SOUND is to provide housing, resources, education, advocacy, and mentoring to help families in crisis leave homelessness, break the cycle of homelessness, and become independent, valuable members of our communities.

Description:
It is the goal of our "ONE FAMILY AT A TIME" Program to help prevent families from ever becoming homeless again. Potential clients receive an in-depth screening and needs-assessment, followed by a plan to address and meet each need. When accepted into the Program, they begin a two-year process of restoration which starts with emergency housing, food, household furnishings, & clothing, involves long-term advocacy and mentoring, and moves toward empowerment and self-sufficiency. NETWORK is addressing the problem of homelessness of families with children (often single moms) with advocacy, education, coaching, and intervention so that prior poor decision-making is replaced by healthier, wiser decisions

History:
We were a branch office in Sammamish, WA of Network Services of Tacoma from 12-01 to 12-03. NETWORK SERVICES OF PUGET SOUND was spun off in 2004 from our parent organization ("Network Services" ~~ which is located in Tacoma, serves Pierce County, as formed in 1990 by Bob Weyrick, and has an 18-yr track record of helping hundreds of homeless families). We were so effective with our branch, they decided to assist us with our own 501(c)(3), and NETWORK SERVICES OF PUGET SOUND began, founded by our Executive Director, Salli DeBoer. Salli has 30 years' experience in business, business development, leadership, and
personal-growth mentoring.
