Logo

KCSARC's vision is to create a community free from sexual assault. Our mission is that we:

  • give voice to victims, their families and the community;
  • create change in beliefs, attitudes and behaviors about violence;
  • instill courage for people to speak out about sexual assault.
  • Description:
    KCSARC is the largest sexual assault resource center in Washington State. The organization's comprehensive Victim Services (in English and Spanish) include 24-hour crisis support, advocacy, individual therapy, parent education, Parent Child Interaction Training, and forensic medical evaluations for children. KCSARC delivers a wide array of Sexual Assault Prevention workshops and programs, including groundbreaking work with communities coping with returning sex offenders.

    History:
    KCSARC was founded in 1976 and has a long history of developing innovative programs. KCSARC established the first Legal Advocacy program and its prevention education and therapeutic programs have been replicated across the country. In 1984, KCSARC collaborated with PBS on a ground-breaking national television special about child sexual abuse.
