Description:
GSBA is the largest LGBT business chamber in the United States and the 2nd largest chamber of any kind in the state of Washington. GSBA members are business and professional leaders that understand it is good business to support a diverse and an inclusive workforce. GSBA supports its members by providing monthly programs and annual events for networking, exchanging information and increasing business referrals. GSBA publishes a monthly newsletter and an annual business directory, The Guide, that is the largest LGBT directory in the U.S. GSBA also advocates on behalf of its members with elected officials on business and civil rights issues to ensure the economic prosperity and equality of its membership and its community. In addition, GSBA invests in the next generation of leaders through its scholarshp program for undergraduate students in Washington State. In 2008, GSBA awarded $137,000 in scholarships, bringing the total scholarships awarded since 1990 to $800,000.
History:
The GSBA has been serving the LGBTA community since 1981. Originally started with 30 members, we now have close to 1000 members. The GSBA Scholarship Program was founded in 1990. More history can be found at www.thegsba.org
