For twenty years the Washington Toxics Coalition (WTC) has been a statewide and national leader in efforts to prevent pollution.
Description:
Our staff of scientists, organizers, and policy advocates work closely with communities and other organizations, providing information about alternatives to toxic pollution and advocating for policy reforms.
History:
Recent victories include achieving ground-breaking policies by the governments of Seattle and King County to end their use of the most-hazardous pesticides, convincing the state Department of Ecology to start a phaseout of releases of toxic chemicals that persist in the environment and build up in our bodies and winning an important battle to fund the program, forcing the EPA to crack down on the use of toxic waste in fertilizer, and more.
