Children's Response Center (CRC) provides comprehensive and culturally sensitive direct services to children and non-offending family members (in East and North King County) affected by sexual assault and other traumatic events; CRC also offers prevention and education services to the communities it serves.
Description:
Services include: Crisis Intervention; Information and Referral; Assessment and Evaluation; Abuse and Trauma-Specific Therapy; Group Sessions; Legal Advocacy; Medical Advocacy; Consultation; Education; Prevention; Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Children's Response Center serves:
- Children and youth under the age of 18 who are victims of sexual assault, or suspected victims, or who demonstrate sexual behavior
- Children and youth under the age of 18 who have been traumatized by other events
- Non-offending family members
- Residents of East and North King County
History:
Children's Response Center was developed by members of the community responding to the need for services for sexually abused children and their families in east King County. The original planning task force became the first Advisory Board. Building on their expertise in sexual assault and available research in treating the traumatic effects of other forms of violence, Children's Response Center began providing services for victims of other forms of trauma in 1997.
