Founded in 1979, the mission of Children's Therapy Center is to maximize the potential of children with developmental delays and disabilities by providing individualized family-centered intervention services.
Description:
Last year we provided services for over 1,000 children with special needs from throughout South King County. These children have neuromuscular disorders and developmental delays such as Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida and Autism. Doctors prescribe our services and our therapists provide the physical, occupational, speech and feeding therapies needed to help each child reach their full potential Family members and/or caregivers are encouraged to participate in therapy sessions so they can learn to include therapy in fun activities at home. Children's Therapy Center also offers an early education program, hippotherapy, aquatic therapy, and fits patients with dynamic ankle and foot orthotics. Our primary focus has been on early intervention (ages birth to 3). We have recently added a fitness program for children with special needs between the ages of 8-18.
History:
Since 1979 our mission has been to maximize the potential of children with disabilities by providing individualized, family-centered intervention services. Our ultimate goal is to help children with special needs achieve maximum independence so they will need fewer services in the future. Our program is unique in that parents and other caregivers participate in all therapy and special education programs so they can carry on the child's therapy program at home.
