Communities In Schools of Renton is helping kids stay in School and prepare for life. Communities In Schools of Renton champions the connection of community resources with schools to help young people learn, stay in school, and prepare for life. We coordinate with public, private, and nonprofit resource providers to make it easier for families to get the help that they need.
Description:
Communities In Schools of Renton rallies community support for children through *The Mentor Program - We match, train, and place adult volunteers as a Mentor dedicated to being a positive role model for an individual student, one hour a week during the school year, on school grounds. *Family Support - Family Liaisons, supported by the Renton Area Service Providers' Network, work in schools to help families access resources to improve their abilities to support their children's school success.
History:
Since 1994, Communities In Schools of Renton has been bringing resources and families together to keep children in school and help them lead productive lives. Through the coordination of a variety of youth and family-focused services, CISR is helping reduce the obstacles to school success for students in Renton Schools.
