DAWN seeks to end Domestic Violence by:
- Providing culturally relevant services that empower battered women and their children.
- Advocating for positive changes in the societal systems that oppress women.
- Fostering a better understanding of domestic violence through community education.
History:
DAWN was started in 1980 by a group of women in response to the need for support in South King County. DAWN first met in a church basement and continues to grow.
