We lead community efforts to ensure that every family can find safe, quality, affordable child care.
Description:
WE SUPPORT FAMILIES, PROVIDERS, AND THE COMMUNITY.
- We provide information and referral for parents looking for child care and educate them about what to look for in a quality program. Our database of over 2,000 child care providers in King County includes licensed centers and family providers, preschool programs, and before- and after-school care.
- We provide customized services to employers, including child care referrals, parenting consultation, and on-site seminars on child development and child care issues.
- We help new child care providers and teachers get started, offering support through licensing, set up, and beginning of operations.
- We work with providers on issues such as child development, anti-bias and multicultural programming, children with special needs, discipline, age-appropriate curriculum, budgeting, and marketing.
- We offer extensive professional development opportunities for child care providers; all classes meet Washington State requirements for licensed child care providers (State Training And Registry System).
WE HAVE THREE OFFICES IN KING COUNTY: Seattle, Redmond, and Kent.
History:
Child Care Resources has been "solving the child care puzzle" since 1990. Child Care Resources was founded as the result of a community-based planning effort led by the Human Services Roundtable, a coalition of local governments and the United Way.
