St. Andrew's Housing Group is a community-based organization dedicated to building, preserving and increasing the supply of affordable housing in East King County for individuals and families unable to afford market-rate housing.
Description:
St. Andrew's Housing Group is dedicated to acquiring, developing, constructing and/or rehabilitating quality affordable housing on King County's Eastside. We currently own seven properties with 208 units that house more than 500 low-income community members. We are also beginning construction on a new 50-unit complex in Issaquah. 95% of our residents' household incomes range from 30%-60% of King County's median income. As an active nonprofit whose growth is outstripping our resources, we rely primarily on grants, fundraisers, and the generous donations of individuals like you to keep our operations running. If you have an interest in making a difference in the lives of families, seniors, and individuals in need, contact us to see how you might help.
History:
St. Andrew's Housing Group was established in 1987 by members of both St. Andrew's Lutheran Church and local community members in response to a need for quality, permanent rental housing on the Eastside. It was run entirely by volunteers until it hired an Executive Director in 1993. SAHG currently employs five full time and two part-time staff. Our volunteer base includes more than 100 people who donate approximately 2500 hours per year.
