Hilltop House Retirement Residence
[ View Opportunities ]
Last updated on August 11, 2008

Hilltop House is an affordable retirement residence on First Hill that enables its seniors to live safely in a residential community that nurtures and fosters their independence. We provide innovative programs that help to maintain, enhance and improve the quality of life for the residents.

Description:
Ninety percent of Hilltop's residents meet the government definition of low income and many have reduced personal support systems. As senior citizens, many of the residents face numerous changes, losses, and crises in their lives. They face increased needs for social, physical and spiritual services. Without this support, some residents isolate themselves in their apartments, while others are required to abandon independent living for a more costly and less satisfying living situation. At Hilltop House, we not only provide comfortable housing, but also one meal a day, many social activities, physical exercise and outings in our facility van.

History:
Hilltop House was developed in 1966 with 125 apartments and 134 residents. The population is representative of the community, and admission is without regard to race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, ability/disability, or political persuasion. Hilltop House is governed by a 12-member Board of Trustees.
